RETURN  INTRODUCTION  TO FORM A SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLE  OPERATIONS OF SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLES REPORTING SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLE ACTIVITIES FOR MORE INFORMATION	KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ONTARIO SPANISH PARISH ROUND TABLE PROGRAM     INTRODUCTION A Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table can be formed by any council even if the council is a parish council. A parish council can form a Spanish speaking round table in its own parish. A council serving a parish that offers Masses in English and in Spanish that do not have a Knights of Columbus presence, has the opportunity to form a English Speaking Parish Round Table and a Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table in the same parish.         TO FORM A SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLE The Grand Knight and officers should inform the members about the initiative of forming a Spanish Speaking Round Table in the parishes served by the council. The Grand Knight should form a team to help establish the Spanish Speaking Round Table. For this purpose bilingual members in the council may provide the necessary language and cultural bridge needed for the recruitment of Hispanic parishioners. The Grand Knight and his team should meet with the parish priest to present him with more details about the benefits of forming such a round table. Spanish Speaking Round Tables help to make Hispanic parishioners feel more welcome by providing them with opportunities to be more active in the Church and community. Since the pastor assigns the projects to be taken care of by the Spanish Speaking Round Table, there should not be any conflict with existing parish groups. With the approval and support of the pastor the Grand Knight and his team will make the arrangements to conduct a church drive among the Spanish speaking parishioners. Note that, if the pastor is not receptive to a Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table, he should be ensured that offer remains open if circumstances change. The Grand, with the help of the pastor should appoint a Parish Round Table Coordinator - preferably a bilingual member. The Grand Knight should complete and submit the Report of the Parish Round Table Coordinator (Form #2629) indicating that it is a Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table, to the Supreme Secretary with copies to the state and district deputies.         OPERATIONS OF SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLES Activities and Leadership There are no elected officers in a Round Table. The appointed coordinator is the only designated leader. The Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table coordinator should provide the leadership needed to carry on the projects assigned to them. The coordinator of the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table should visit the parish priest frequently (monthly is suggested) to discuss various projects for Spanish speaking Knights. When a project requires more support than the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table members can provide, the coordinator should solicit council members for support and assistance. The Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table projects are council projects. The coordinator must communicate with the Grand Knight and the council should make sure that the projects of the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table are successful. Brief but regular meetings may be required of the members of the round table in order to coordinate the projects assigned by the parish priest to the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table. Dues and Funds The Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table has no dues. Members continue to meet their financial obligations to the council. All funds raised by the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table must be kept by the sponsoring council. As with any expenditure, the sponsoring council must approve all necessary expenses of the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table. Review and Appointments The Grand Knight and the parish priest should annually review the activities of the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table and the effectiveness of its coordinator. If the pastor desires a change of coordinator, or if the coordinator resigns during the fraternal year, the pastor can select a new coordinator and the Grand Knight will make the appointment.         REPORTING SPANISH SPEAKING PARISH ROUND TABLE ACTIVITIES Each year, the coordinator of the Spanish Speaking Parish Round Table should complete the Annual Report of the Knights of Columbus Round Table (Form #2630) secure the signature of the Grand Knight and pastor. This report should be submitted to the Supreme Secretary with copies to the state and district deputies by June 30th. .        KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS  IN SERVICE TO ONE.
